Create Your Own 3D Printable Coasters with the New Deltaprints Coaster Designer

Today I’m happy to introduce a new tool on Deltaprints: the 3D Printable Coaster Designer.

The idea behind it is pretty simple. I wanted to make it possible to create a personalized, print-ready coaster without having to open CAD software, manually edit STL files, or spend time preparing a design for engraving.

You choose your design, generate the STL, and print it.

Design Your Coaster Directly in Your Browser

The Coaster Designer runs directly on the Deltaprints website and gives you a live preview while you create your coaster.

You can choose between different coaster shapes and thicknesses and then add a design to the printable surface.

There is already a growing library of ready-made patterns and artwork, so you can create something quickly without preparing your own files.

But for me, one of the most useful features is the custom upload.

You can upload your own SVG or PNG artwork and use it to create a completely personalized coaster. The designer processes the artwork, fits it to the printable area of the selected coaster and converts it into geometry that can be used for the engraving.

Once everything looks right, the tool generates the final STL file directly in your browser.

No CAD software and no manual STL editing required.

Made for 3D Printing

This isn’t just an image placed on top of a 3D model.

A lot of work has gone into making the generated geometry actually suitable for FDM printing. The designer creates the engraving as part of the coaster geometry and performs checks before exporting the final STL.

The goal is simple: design → download → slice → print.

Of course, 3D geometry can get complicated, especially when people upload their own artwork. That’s why I’ll continue improving the processing and compatibility as more people start using the tool.

The Coaster Designer is part of a new series of tools and services I’m building for Deltaprints supporters.

You can simply register for an account on deltaprints.de to get started.

If you’re already a paid Deltaprints Patreon member, your account can even be activated automatically when your Patreon membership is recognized.

And This Is Just the Beginning

The Coaster Designer is the first step in something I want to expand quite a bit.

I’m working on more useful tools that make it easier to customize models, create printable files and do things directly on Deltaprints that would normally require additional software.

There will also be more designs, more options and further improvements to the Coaster Designer itself.
