New at Deltaprints: Create Your Own 3D Printable Keychains – For Free

Sometimes the best tools come from a very simple question: How can we make this easier?

If you regularly create 3D prints, sell printed products, or simply enjoy making personalized things, you probably know the process. A customer wants a name, a different font, maybe a heart or another small detail – and suddenly you’re back in CAD software creating another custom model.

We wanted to make that process faster.

That’s why we built the Deltaprints Keychain Generator – a free browser-based tool for creating personalized, 3D printable keychains.

Design your keychain directly in your browser

There’s nothing to install and no CAD experience is required.

Enter your text, choose your settings and see the result directly in the interactive 3D preview. You can adjust the size, outline, base thickness, raised text, keyring hole and other parameters until the keychain looks the way you want.

When you’re happy with the result, simply export the model as an STL file and open it in your slicer.

And it’s completely free to use.

Choose a font – or upload your own

Fonts can completely change the character of a keychain, so we didn’t want to limit the generator to a handful of fixed options.

You can choose from the fonts already available in the Deltaprints generator and see how they look directly in the font selection.

But there’s another option we especially wanted to include:

You can upload your own font or icon.

If you already have a favorite font, use a particular typeface for your products or simply want to experiment with something different, you can load it into the generator and use it for your keychain.

Your custom font is processed locally in your browser – you don’t need to send us your font file just to create a model.

Built for hobby makers – and people selling 3D printed products

We didn’t want to build another complicated design application.

The idea was to create a practical tool that removes a repetitive task from the workflow of hobby makers and sellers of 3D printed products.

If you sell at craft fairs, take personalized orders online or make gifts for friends and family, a simple name keychain shouldn’t require opening a full CAD project every time.

Download the STL

That’s the workflow we wanted.

And because the geometry is generated specifically for 3D printing, the generator also pays attention to things such as connected outlines, keyring attachment and basic printability instead of simply turning text into an arbitrary 3D object.
